Hi there! I’m Jacki, the completely dog-obsessed person behind this website (more about that in a minute). My day job is working with exchange students, but in my free time I love reading, photography, traveling, cooking, rescuing animals (dogs mostly), spending time with family, and going on really cool day trips. Since our daughter has a couple of horses, I also end up spending a lot of time at the barn watching her ride (and shoveling horse poop).
I live in Warrenton, Virginia with my husband, daughter (and the occasional exchange student). If I had to describe one thing that really defines our family, it would be that we love animals. Friends and family often tease me that we have a petting zoo, and with 6 dogs, 4 equine, reptiles, and the occasional foster dog(s), I suppose that is true. My family and I dream about the day when we can buy a farm (and I can add more animals to our family).
Now about this dog-obsessed. If you stick around here long enough, you will see that as a family we are really big into animal rescue, mostly dogs. We foster everything from bottle-fed puppies to medical-needs dogs to hospice dogs that just need a soft bed to live out their final days. It makes me happy.
